Emmanuel Perez
Research is not the exclusive privilege of those who know. It is rather the domain of those who do not know.
Every time we turn to something we don't understand - cats, for example, water, anger, hair, injustice, trees, etc. - we do research.
Robert Filliou.
After multidisciplinary artistic studies, Emmanuel Perez devoted himself to painting. Starting from an abstract form adopted as a leitmotif, he develops and unfolds throughout his protean works a search for simplicity in line, and weaves links between his internal world and the exterior. His practice of drawing and photography is transposed onto large format canvases, where vast bare spaces rub shoulders with enigmatic figures, as if on the edge of humanity, emerging from a disturbing imagination.
Emmanuel Perez trained for 5 years at the Beaux-Arts in Tourcoing (Lille, France) where he obtained these diplomas (national diploma in plastic arts and national higher diploma in plastic expression). Born in 68 in Brittany, in the Finistère region, he nourishes his painting by moving around.
